Final Destination 5 Trailer/ Series Run Down Rambles

Does the world need another Final Destination movie? No but we’re getting one anyway!
I’m a huge, mega-tron fan of the Final Destination series (meh, the 4th one had it’s moments.)
Mainly, I have a passionate love for seeing splatter on screen especially when it comes from an over-the-top death. Ah, love it!
I love the first Final Destination because Death played such a great role as a presence that stalked the survivors of the plane crash. The movie showed that some things aren’t just happenstance and that when it’s your time to go, you can run and hide but look out! A car is going to drive into you or..or or…that person across the street is going open their closet door and their gun is going to fly out and and and it’s going to go off and shoot you in the face! TWICE!
Hey, it could happen! (especially in a FD movie)
It also played on the “off” feelings we all have sometimes. When we second guess ourselves or just have a “feeling” about something and don’t know why, it may all be a premonition to something bad and shouldn’t be something we shrug off.  Getting on a bus that you almost missed, eating that day old sushi or even giving that guy a second date are all things could lead to our deaths! Dun dun dunnn.
The second one was just a “let’s be silly and kill people off in crazy ways!” movie.
The start of the crash was completely intense then came the “how’s he gonna die!? How is she gonna die!? Omg, when is she gonna die!?” game throughout the movie.
The third one was, in my humble opinion, a PERFECT full circle ending to the series. It was thrilling, gruesome *heart* and death was unavoidable which is the point of the whole thing. Beautiful.
And at the time of all this 3-D hype, there had to be yet another one, THE Final Destination and it had to be in 3-D.
Yes, having gore all up in my face is awesome but, the movie was made strictly for 3-D and does not stand on it’s own beyond body parts everywhere and shit flying at the screen. There is minor homage-y moments in the movie but still, it was fun yet weak and unnecessary.
And now my rambling comes to a point, here we are again, another Final Destination movie. Final Destination 5 (which should be changed to “Final-ish Destination”) takes it’s deathly mark on a bridge. The bridge collapses killing a bunch of people, yet some dude has a vision about it, saves some people before it happens, poof it happens, then poof death happens. Poof.

Oh yeah…it’s in 3-D as well.
I’m always going to be all for cool kills and splatter! but is the FD series going to be the next Saw of unnecessary sequels? I mean, yeah it’s totally awesome to have fancy contraptions ripping people apart and stuff but where’s the heart? No I don’t mean literally, I know it’s on the floor somewhere but when movies become all about the kills and there’s no real heart put in the story, what’s the point?

I do welcome the return of Tony Todd to the series but still….we’ll see how this turns out come Aug 12th when FD5 is due to hit theaters.

(Hurry and watch it before the studio removes it!!!)

Hachet 2 Trailer

During my time at Comic Con, one of my favorite moments was the Hatchet 2 panel.

I got to witness insanely bloody kill scenes and the awesome trailer posted below.

Hatchet 2 will be hitting AMC theaters in Oct so everyone has to go see it because it’s going to be incredible!

Weird Science: Splice and Human Centipede Trailers

Trailers are my next favorite thing from seeing the actual movies. Snippets of scenes, dramatic music and then end always wants you craving more. Recently I’ve seen the newly released trailers for Splice and Human Centipede: First Sequence. And guess what? (chicken butt) ….. You get to see them too! Score!

A few months ago during the Sundance Film Fest, I heard about this little movie called Splice and how interesting it was. I didn’t read any spoilers but I hear the ending is pretty fucked up and unsettling. I’m not much for hype but I’m definitely intrigued.

Two experimental scientists screw around splicing human DNA with animal DNA creating a new organism named “Dren.” The two keep it a secret while learning more about Dren but when she turns deadly, they realize their huge mistake.

This has a released date of June 4th but at this time I’m not sure if it will be select cities or what not. We’ll see.

If you follow horror movies, then I’m sure you’ve heard of Human Centipede. Yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like, people’s heads attached to someone else’s ass to create a…..dun dun dunnn… human centipede. As someone who is a little bit xenophobic I’m not too keen on the idea of going to other countries. I’ve been to Central America with my family by my side and I’ve been to England partially spending time with family and the other doing crowded touristy stuff. You hear in the news about people visiting other countries and getting kidnapped and so on but never could I think those people are victims of a mad scientist. Now, after seeing this trailer, any crazy thing is possible.

I’m not sure when this will be released but I do know it’s playing by me next month! So stand by for a full review and possibly a story about me puking after I see some serious ass-to-mouth action.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World trailer

My love for Shaun of the Dead opened the door for my interest in Edgar Wright. A true horror fan boy who incorporates pop culture references and gore together with loads of humor. His fake Grindhouse trailer Don’t was my favorite of the bunch and the moment that I discovered Spaced was one of the greatest days ever.

Wright has now taken on the adaption of Bryan Lee O’Mallery’s Scott Pilgrim graphic novel starring Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

Scott Pilgrim, falls for a beautiful girl but before they can truly be together, he has to defeat her 7 evil exes.

Besides my obsession with Rock Band. I’m so bad at video games. I just love to watch them. When I was younger, my brothers played countless amounts of hours playing whatever hot video game that came out, I spent those same hours just watching. I loved it. The trailer takes me back to those day and I also love the Double Dragon meets old school Batman (POW THUMP) feel the trailer gives. It makes me very excited for this.

I’m now adding this to my anticipated movies of this year. BAM!

The Lovely Bones Trailer

Today I watched the trailer for The Lovely Bones. I remember when this book was really popular and when I heard what the book was about, I was really intrigued by the story. Too bad to say I still have not yet read it, but I will!

When I heard that this was going to be made into a movie I was curious to know how they would do the whole “dead girl/heaven perspective” since it seems like a tricky thing to pull off. You can’t go too over the top or else it would just be too cheesy but you can’t down play it too much because then it just loses the beauty of it all.

Insert director Peter Jackson. Regular folks knows him as the Lord of the Rings guy, but us horror folk remember him back in the day with Dead Alive, one of the best zombie movies, Bad Taste, Meet the Feebles, The Frighteners, and one of my favorite films, Heavenly Creatures. I didn’t have to watch the trailer to know that Jackson could rock this movie out. The man can poop on a dvd and I’d shove it in my player just to watch it. Yeah, he’s that brilliant.

So The Lovely Bones is about a 14-year-old girl who is murdered by her neighbor. She tells the story from Heaven, showing the lives of the people around her and how they have changed all while attempting to get someone to find her lost body.

The Lovely Bones will be out some time in December so I’ll will definitely read the book by then!

Dexter: Season 4 Trailer

On September 27, Dexter fans everywhere, including myself, will be tuning in for the beginning of the 4th season. This season looks to be very exciting, not only will Dexter have to balance out his urge to kill but also fatherhood.

Throughout the past 3 season we’ve seen in flashbacks Dexter’s fucked up but encouraging relationship with his foster father. His dad didn’t always like what Dexter did but he showed him how to do it right and gave him structure and rules. It leaves me wondering if he will do the same with his son or will he do his best to give his son a shielded life from all of that or even if the child will inherit that urge. Hmmm. We’ll see!

That new twist in Dexter’s life has me intrigued but what I am even more interested in is John Lithgow’s character as the Trinity Killer. Seems like Dexter will have quite a challenge this season when he goes against a successful serial killer.

It’s going to be a great season and to anyone that isn’t watching the show yet, get it Netflix, watch it OnDemand, download it, buy it, do what you have to do to see this great show!

Saw VI Trailer

(Special thanks to BD for putting the one sheet online for us non-Comic Con folk)

While I sit in my apartment on a Thursday night watching reruns of The Office, people in San Diego are having the time of their lives at Comic Con. Yes, I’m jealous. But I will live vicariously through Twitter posts and updates on sites.

I ran across the latest one sheet, clip and trailer for the new Saw installment. I’m not a big fan of the franchise beyond the first film but I still go out to see every sequel. I must admit the last two films had me so confused. I felt as know they were trying to hard to “shock” me to who the killer was that I had trouble keeping up with it. I managed though, as a gore whore, it didn’t matter to me if the neighbor did it or my mom, I just wanted to see these amazing sick and twisted traps and all the blood that would soon follow after one is triggered.

In this film, Special Agent Strahm is dead, and Detective Hoffman has emerged as the unchallenged successor to Jigsaw’s legacy. However, when the FBI draws closer to Hoffman, he is forced to set a game into motion, and Jigsaw’s grand scheme is finally understood.

I’m hoping I understand it but still I just want to see the creative ways people are forced to kill one another and of course all, for the bloody gore.

Saw VI comes to theaters Oct 23

Grace Trailer

“Madeline Matheson is eight months pregnant and determined to deliver her unborn child, Grace, naturally. When an accident leaves Grace dead inside her, Madeline insists on carrying the baby’s corpse to term. Weeks later, when Madeline delivers, the baby miraculously returns to life… With an appetite.”

Writer/director Paul Solet’s debut feature circulated the Sundance Film Festival collecting awards and gaining recognition. I am really looking forward to seeing this movie. Based on the trailer, it looks creepy, bloody and very promising.

I can see the movie going into an It’s Alive direction, with maybe a mix of Little Shop of Horrors, which only adds to my excitement. I don’t know if I’ll get the blissful chance of seeing this film at theaters but I will be looking out for a dvd release date and pre-ordering this birth control reminder.
