For five years now C2E2 has been bringing Chicago a blend of entertainment and comics to geeky genre fans.

C2E2 (The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo) is a convention spanning the latest and greatest from the worlds of comics, movies, television, toys, anime, manga and video games. C2E2’s show floor is packed with hundreds of exhibitors, panels and autograph sessions giving fans a chance to interact with their favorite creators and screening rooms featuring sneak peeks at films and television shows months before they hit either the big or small screen!

Here is my experience during my 4th year going to this convention:

Two things I was looking forward to on my first day was the Wayward Pines panel and The Insidious 4-D Into The Further Experience.

It’s no secret that M. Night has a reputation  of trying to surprise his audience with a mind blowing twist. Yes, it was fun the first two, maybe three movies but then it got a little old and so did his stuff. With that being said, I was intrigued by the idea that he would be moving on to do a tv series.

Wayward Pines follows Secret Service agent Ethan Burke who awakes in a sleepy town called Wayward Pines after an accident. The panel started with featuring the first episode of the show. Based on the first episode I was interested enough to await the series start on May 14.

Due to photo and video restrictions I was unable to use my camera during the panel but here’s a look at the show.

Prior to the weekend I mentioned the Insidious experience in a past post HERE

I don’t want to give too much details about the experience for anyone who is able to go to one of the locations. Overall I can say that it was a thrilling experience that was fun and unique. It reminded me of something William Castle would do in modern times. I felt like I was in the atmosphere of a haunted house but it was more of a personal interaction.

It made me excited to see the next chapter in the Insidious series out next month.

If you do get a chance to hit this experience up, I highly recommend it and it is worth any wait time.
