Creepshow 2 holds a special place in my heart. As far as I can remember this is the first horror movie I saw in theaters.
While I was being indecisive about my movie choice for the night I was going back and forth between Creepshow 2 and Leprechaun: Origins. Thankfully my Facebook followers talked me out of Leprechaun: Origins because Creepshow 2 hit the spot for me that night.
Creepshow 2 features three new comic book tales along with another prologue Billy story.
The first story is about a wooden store front Indian seeking revenge on some killer ruffians. The second story is about a alluring raft that is guarded by a killer oil slick thingy. The third story is about a woman who talks to herself a lot while being haunted by a hitcher she ran over. Then there is the adventure of Billy who is harassed by bullies.
Out of all of the stories in Creepshow 2 I can still say today that The Raft is my favorite story out of the bunch.
It’s the one that has stuck with me throughout all of these years (and I’m hella old ya’ll)
Don’t get me wrong, the Indian story is fantastic and still really creepy but the ending of The Raft has forever haunted me. I won’t spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen Creepshow 2 (whatcha waiting for!? It’s streaming on Netflix!) But for those of you who know what I’m talking about…yeah, that’s a hard ending to shake off.
I’m glad that I spent the night revisiting Creepshow 2. Maybe, just maybe I’ll see Leprechaun: Origins sometime down this October road but it wasn’t in the stars for me that night.
