The other day I was talking to a friend about re-watching movies to give them another shot.
He was telling me about a movie he watched again and enjoyed the second time around.
I was telling him how I had the opposite effect when I watched Shocker after a few years of not seeing it.
I remembered Shocker for its basic plot.
A psycho killer on death row channels voodoo which gives him the power to possess people’s body and float through electricity.
What I did not remember from all the times I watched Shocker many years ago was how terrible it is.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Shocker. It’s a great plate of re-fried cheese but holy ball, it is not a good movie.
Maybe in another 10 years I’ll get possessed to watch Shocker again and see it as a stellar piece of film history but as of now, my re-watching made me laugh at the ludicrous gem from Wes Craven.
