Friday Film Recommendations: Sept 3rd

Happy September and Happy Labor Day Weekend all!

So for anyone who is planning on spending their down time watching a shit load of movies like I am, check out this week’s FFR.

City of the Living Dead

After a priest commits suicide in a church’s cemetery, the gates of hell open up and the dead rise! Dun dun dunnn.

This is another one of Fulci’s awesome zombie films.

The Prowler

A masked killer stalks a small N.J. town that has been haunted by murders from 35 years ago. The killer focuses in college students partying on the anniversary of the murders.

Amityville 3-D

Another sequel surrounding the haunted house of Amityville. This was the last movie in the series I enjoyed before the rest of the sequels got terrible.

And I’m sorry to say, unless you’re trippin’ ballz, this is only viewable in 2-D. Wa-wa.

Watch Now

Revenge of the Nerds

I thought this would be a great pick for this week because people are going back to school!

Watching the nerds go through all their crazy antics and stand up to those jocks makes me miss being in college…..even though my experience was nothing like it at all.

Watch Now

Nip/Tuck: Season 1

Got an hour? Check out the first season of Nip/Tuck. When this show first aired, it completely blew my mind. Not only did FX get away with a lot of shit on this but the show itself had some serious addicting drama going on. Plus a lot of the plastic surgery stories are quite strange, morbid, wtf, and hilarious!

Watch Now

Cabin Fever 2: Spring Break

I’m making a blind recommendation on this one. Yes, like everyone reading this, you ever experienced the badness or have heard that this is really bad. I’m going to force myself to watch this one day even though I’m disappointed that there’s no Dennis but not only am I curious on how bad this is, I have some respect for the director Ti West. After seeing The Roost and House of the Devil I super dig his stylized approach to homage films. So wish me luck for when I do see this.

Borderland

Feeling like having a Rider Strong double feature? Pfft, don’t even act like you didn’t watch Boy Meets World back in the day! Along with Cabin Fever 2, Rider Strong starts in this Horrorfest film about college friends stumbling upon a human-sacrificing cult.

Have a great weekend everyone!

  1. Emily- it's such a classic I had to put it up! 🙂

Morgan- I'm going to give a shot. It did take some time for the first on to grow on me.

Fred- I have so many on my queue it's going to take me a year to watch them all.

Queenie- I'll check out DC, thanks 🙂

  2. Oh my, Amittyville 3D, I actually paid money to go see this…ugh! I think part 2 is a much better sequel. Didn't even bother with any of the other films in the franchise after 3. The actual book, scary as heck!
    Great picks
    Dreaded Dreams
