Friday Film Recommendations: July 9th

Happy Friday Ya’ll! Ready to beat the heat by staying inside and watching movies? Well… I AM!

Here’s this week’s FFR including filmer commentary by my wonderful sidekick T.M.

The hit zombie comedy from last year is now available via watch instantly!

I didn’t think I was going to like this when it came out, but throwing in some practical rules, the enjoyment of the small things and some effin’ Bill Murray and poof, this movie rocks.

T.M.- “Farm boy Woody Boyd certainly knows how to bitch slap the undead. You should watch this, Bill Murray Mother Fucker!”

Watch Now

Stan Helsing

I gotta throw some cheese into my mixes and this is it.

Surprising this yet another parody mock movie isn’t as annoying as I thought it was going to be. I laughed at moments so meh, some of ya’ll may enjoy it. So go on and enjoy it.

Session 9

I’m in the process of working on my Top 10 Willy Inducing Moment  (which will be posted by the weekend so stay tuned) and this movie is on the list.

Asbestos workers cleaning up a mental hospital start experiencing eerie things. *shudder*

The first time I watched this alone in the dark, I had the major ebbies by the very last minute of the movie. It’s something that will always stay with me.

Unfortunately, with David Caruso as one of the stars, it’s hard to take this movie seriously, but try, it’s worth it!

T.M.- “It’s one of those tripped out bitches you want to watch smoking peyote.”

Watch Now

Black Dynamite

My righteous non-horror pick of the week.

Every now and then my friends get together to have a movie marathon night. At the last one my friend brought in this magical little gem.

I don’t even know where to go with this movie other than, everyone must see this! There were a lot of moments were I almost cried from laughing so much. It’s just great. If you dig I’m Gonna Git You Sucka then you will seriously super love this movie. Check it out yo.

Watch Now

Pushing Daisies: Season 1 &2

I lost a lot of good tv shows over the years but this is one that was very near and dear to me. I’m a quirky girl with a goofy sense of humor and whimsical dreams so this show completely appealed to me with it’s flowery take on death, murder and mystery. If you haven’t had the chance to see this while it aired, I super recommend ya’ll give a few eps a shot. This show truly had my heart during the course of two seasons.

T.M.- “It’s like a Dr. Suess book made by Disney about death. Ooooo pretty colors.”

Watch Now

The Gravedancers
In my humble opinion the After Dark movies aren’t really all that great. Granted I’ve only seen like 3 or 4 and some are ok, but others errrr, yeah. So Gravedancers is the decent out of the bunch I’ve seen. It’s not bad at all, though the end has a “um really?” moment but meh, it’s worth checking out.
A Real Friend
I didn’t get a chance to watch this completely but it looks pretty spiffy so I’ll have to give a go again and ya’ll should too.
Apparently it’s about a girl with a vampire/monster imaginary friend. Ah, that takes me back!
Sorry but I can’t find a trailer. Balls!
Have a good weekend folks!
HorrorBlips: vote it up!
