31 Days of Halloween- Day 21: An American Werewolf in London

What is there to say about this movie that hasn’t been said before?

The amazing (groundbreaking at the time) transformation scene… the fantastic, suiting music choices, all brilliant elements to this movie.

John Landis is the king of combining horror and comedy. An American Werewolf is bloody but really funny too.

I love going through David’s journey on finding love and realizing that he’s a werewolf. Not only is he aware of through the changes he feels but because his undead friend Jack let’s him know. It’s after David realizes that he killed people does he accept what he is and tries to prevent future killings.

The movie itself it’s great but there is one scene that made me love this movie beyond the actual story, undead zombies or the special effects and that’s the theatre scene. Jack draws David to a porno theater to tell him what he has to do to “fix” his problem. The backdrop of this scene is a movie called See You Next Wednesday. It’s this random, wtf? scene that made me love the shit out of this movie.

  1. Such a great film. The transformation is still impressive even by today's standards.

The Beware The Moon doc on the new disc is worth the price alone. Definitely pick it up. You'll love it.
