George Romero’s Survival of the Dead

George Romero is an icon in the horror industry, giving birth to the zombie genre. Zombie films have always been my favorite, hell, I named one of my dogs “Zombie” because I love the genre so much. I’ll watch whatever I can get my hands on and if Romero’s name is attached to it, I’m all over it 20 times more.

I can’t say that I’m a big fan of all of his films but I give them a fair try and that’s what could be said about his next film Survival of the Dead.

On an island off the coast of North America, local residents simultaneously fight a zombie epidemic while hoping for a cure to return their un-dead relatives back to their human state.

  1. I wouldn't judge much from that promo piece. It was made while they were still shooting so there isn't the sense of the whole film yet. Nor is it completed so it's probably some assistant editor that put that together. Plus a few sound effects sounded like it was on set not the added effects from the eventual sound mix. I'd wait for the official release trailer when that hits to see if it does anything for any of us. I'll see it because of Romero. I hope it's better than Diary too but at the same time I'm not expecting much. If it's on par with Diary then that would be ok (without the annoying first person camera gag). I loved Land so I'd love to see more along those lines. I know he'll never make another Night/Dawn/Day again. But another Land I can see him doing and I'd like to see it.
